Cleaning

Speaker Dust Cleaning Tools

Dust, lint and pocket fluff slowly build up in speaker grilles and make sound crackly, quiet or dull. Our dust cleaning tool uses bass-heavy sound and vibration to shake loose particles out of the grille, so your speaker can breathe again.

Use it when
  • Your speaker sounds crackly or buzzy
  • Volume seems lower than it used to be
  • You can see lint in the grille
  • One stereo speaker sounds duller than the other

Hold the speaker facing down while the tool runs so loosened dust can fall out.

Speaker Water Removal Tools

Rain, a splash or a quick dip can leave water trapped in a speaker grille, making everything sound muffled. Our water removal tool plays a low 165 Hz tone that moves the speaker cone and pushes droplets out, with drip pauses built in.

Use it when
  • Sound is muffled after rain or a spill
  • Your phone was splashed or dropped in water
  • Calls sound quiet or underwater
  • The speaker crackles after getting wet

Act quickly, wipe the device dry first, and never charge a wet phone.

Fix

Speaker Water Removal

Eject water from a wet phone, tablet or laptop speaker with a 165 Hz sound and vibration cycle, built-in drip pauses and safe auto stop.

  • 165 Hz water eject
  • Music or vibration
  • 3 clean levels
Eject Water Now

How water removal works

  1. Dry the outside. Wipe the device and remove the case.
  2. Face it down. Point the speaker toward the floor.
  3. Run the cycle. A 165 Hz tone pushes water outward.
  4. Repeat if needed. Let it rest, then run one more cycle.
Testing

Speaker Sound Testing Tools

Sound problems are not always caused by dirt or water. A swapped cable, a dead earbud, a device stuck in mono, a silent rear speaker or a weak subwoofer can all spoil your audio. Our sound tests play each channel and frequency on its own, so you can hear exactly what is working.

Use these tests when
  • Left and right sound swapped or unbalanced
  • Music sounds flat or narrow
  • One earbud or speaker is silent
  • You are setting up a 5.1 or 7.1 home theater
  • Bass is weak or your subwoofer is silent
Test

Left Right Stereo Sound Test

Play sound in the left, right or both channels, sweep across the stereo field, and catch swapped or reversed wiring.

  • Phase check

Use Our Speaker Tools Safely

Our tools use normal audio, but a few simple habits protect your hearing and your hardware.

  • Keep volume moderate

Start low and turn it up slowly. Maximum volume is rarely needed.

  • Take earbuds out

Never wear headphones or earbuds while running a cleaning tool.

  • Stop if it rattles

Rattling or distortion means you should stop and check the speaker.

  • Know when to repair

Salt water, sugary drinks or no sound at all usually need a repair service.

FAQ

Speaker Tools FAQ

Quick answers about our speaker cleaning and sound testing tools.

Which tool should I use first?

If your speaker sounds muffled or crackly, start with a cleaning tool: Water Removal after liquid, or the Dust Cleaner for lint and dust. Once the sound is clear, use the sound tests to check that every channel is working.

Are these speaker tools free?

Yes. Every tool in this category is free to use as often as you need, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

Do the tools work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. All tools run in your web browser, so they work on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Windows, Mac and Chromebook.

Can sound really remove water and dust?

Low tones make the speaker cone move further than normal, which pushes water droplets and loose dust out of the grille. It works best soon after the problem starts and with the speaker facing down. It cannot reach water inside the device.

Can these tools damage my speaker?

The tools use normal audio with set cycle lengths and automatic stops. Keep the volume moderate and stop if you hear rattling or distortion.

Do I need special equipment for the sound tests?

No. Use the speakers or headphones you already have. For the surround sound test, connect your computer to your receiver or soundbar by HDMI for real 5.1 or 7.1 output.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Most speaker problems are caused by water or dust. Start with a cleaning tool, then run a quick sound test to make sure everything is working.
